Boat Camping

Our most memorable summer vacations have been those where we went boat-in-camping. We tried to do this several times a summer. A girl friend and I decided to take an impromptu trip right after the boat was serviced.

We pack every up, head for the lake and motor ourselves out to a great, secluded campsite reachable only by boat.

Jumping forward next morning, rising to a beautiful morning & incredible sunrise until my eye spotted the bow of the boat sticking out of the water. The boat was 3/4 submerged in the lake.

Being the stubborn women that we are, we turned down help from a boat of 3 fishermen on a fishing trip.

using a logs as a fulcrum and a huge rock that was miraculously not far away, we found the strength to raise the boat and as it came up bail with a dish pan. We then took the motor apart, dried it out and actually got it running.

Later that afternoon we came across the fishermen who were dumbfounded to see us nonchanatly motoring along.
