Ski Trip

In was 1959. We were on a trip to go skiing in upper Michigan. We encountered a "whiite-out" snow storm.

Shortly thereafter we had a head on collision. Fortunately, both cars were only going about 15 mph. with no visible road markings to determine who was on the proper side of the road and with little damage and no injuries we exchanged names and numbers.

About 3 hours in cleaner weather an airplane glided over our car from behind and silently landed on the road ahead of us. No damage. No injuries. The plane had icing problems and had to land.

Two dates later, after some wonderful skiing, we headed south. At around 2 a.m. we passed as a small town 35 miles from home. There were 3 or 4 orange columns of light coming from the sky. We watched for about 20 minutes, as we continued driving.

The next day in the paper there was a front page story about "orange lights" shining above a town where we had passed the night before.
