Vernal, Utah

Western US Roadtrip

Drove to Vernal, Utah where there is an incredible Dinosaur Museum/Site as well as Petroglyphs that are >1000 years old. Actual dinosaur fossils sticking out of the side of a mountain and great hikes to view the Petroglyphs, which are rock wall drawings done by the Indian cultures. Spent several days camping along the Green River in the middle of the desert.

Then drove through Flaming Gorge in Wyoming and up into Yellowstone National Park. Wildlife is abundant and roaming free (Elk, Moose, Bears, Coyotes etc..). A grizzly bear came down to the water where myself and about 10 other trout fisherman were working the night bite on the Yellowstone river. Fishing was cut short that evening! Spent several days camping in Yellowstone.

Continued the roadtrip all the way to Minnesota along the north I90 route and spent a week visiting family and friends.

We then drove back to California via the south I80 route from Des Moines, IA right into Sacramento.

A very long but incredibly fun roadtrip!
